Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, an American screen and stage actress who is best recognized for her roles in films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the tv show The Mentalist. She has a Bachelor's degree in African-American Studies and an MFA from the Tisch School of Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis, a producer and American actor active in the theatre in film, television, and theatre. She began acting on stage before appearing in mainstream, independent, and TV series. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for that she was not only rewarded with critical acclaim but also numerous awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. In 1995, she made her debut as Ariel on stage as Ariel in The Tempest. Her credits on stage include The Broadway performance of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis. Coming to her movie career she is best known for her role in movies like Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. On television, her part on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
